THE LAKE OF RESIA

The bell tower in lago di Resia is the symbol of the Upper Venosta Valley. On the Ortles's marvelous background, the bell tower rises from the water to recall the sad event of the flooding of the old towns of Resia and Curon, which in 1949/50 vanished under the waters of the artificial lake.
